Who Knew?
I didn't!
Thanks to Carole McCulloch I can now listen to my favourite stories instead of trying to find time to sit down and read them. Who really has that much time in their day, especially when they’re madly writing stories?
Many of you are probably thinking, Yeah Jenny, we know all about that. But for those who don’t, here’s the scoop:
In the Substack app on your phone, you’ll find a little play button at the top of each post. Tap it, and you’ll hear a variety of AI-generated voices, some male, some female, all very clear and easy to understand.
On the Substack website, you’ll find a little play button on Posts, not on Notes. It’s easy to miss at first, but once you know, you know!
Have fun, go walking, do the housework, or enjoy a drive. Now I can catch up on all the great genealogy stories on Substack, using the play button and those handy AI voices while I potter around.
Thanks Carole.

Somehow in the middle of the night I managed to click it accidentally and it started reading to me! Woke me up but I wasnt mad. It was a great post about how important genealogy and knowing your people is to self-worth and the connection made with our elders because telling stories is how we pass down love. It felt completely not like an accident! 😁
Not all publications have it. One of my publications does and the other doesn't. I asked the support bot why that is the case a while back but it couldn't explain why ... it more or less told me that that is just the way it is.
