Sharing My Family History
I'm a researcher by day and a researcher by night. Sleep being overrated. There's hardly a day that goes by when I'm not sitting at the computer looking something up or adding a story to my archive at Jenealogy Scrapbook on the WeAre.xyz platform.
Jennifer Jones shared a post with her ancestral names on it, so I took up the challenge to share mine too.
I’ve been delving into my family history since the late 1980s. Often times I'll be focused on one family line, then I'll get an email out of the blue from someone asking about another family. Off I go on a tangent and especially if, when I go to send the information, I look and notice something missing. But that's what genealogy and family history research is all about right!? There's no right or wrong way to go about it.
I do try and make a list of things I need to look up, but then forget to go back to it. I’m more likely to fly by the seat of my pants and just go headlong into something. I'm trying to get better at that and have been having a look at Notion. Oh my, is that a huge learning curve or what? This nearly 70 year old should have learnt that years ago!
My motto has always been about sharing. I'm one of four in my family, but I'm also one of over 40 first cousins in my paternal family, at least a dozen on my maternal side, and of course there's all the second, third and fourth cousins. So these ancestors I research and write about are not just my family, they belong to many of you out there.
If you recognize any of these names or think we might have overlapping branches in our family trees, please don't hesitate to reach out! I'm always happy to compare notes, share stories, and collaborate on our shared history. After all, that's what makes this journey so rewarding—connecting with distant relatives and piecing together our collective past.
So meanwhile, here's a list of my research names. If anyone has any connection to any of these, I'd love to swap information.

I lost count, years ago, of the times I have looked over my shoulder and the sun was coming up. I've never regretted those all night search and rescue (ancestors) missions or the rabbit holes that became more enticing, one warren after another.
You are my hero and inspiration for the sheer volume of research and writing you achieve every month! Sleep is overrated!
